This scholarship will be awarded to one student meeting the following criteria:
Preferred applicants are to be ordained or licensed by a church in the Georgia Baptist Association where they held membership when entering college and/or seminary.
Satisfactorily completed two years of college and enrolled at Mercer University or some other accredited four-year college for the final two years. For seminary aid, the applicant must hold a college degree as required by the seminary.
A student shall maintain a high standard of work and character, always bearing evidence of a Christ-like life. Evidence to the contrary shall mean withdrawal of funds and request for repayment beginning immediately at the prevailing rate of interest.
The student shall solicit a scholarship endorsement annually from the department chairman or appropriate official to be submitted to the scholarship committee. Students not making passing grades or completing courses shall not receive further aid except under providential or circumstances approved by the committee.
Application must be received by the Georgia Baptist Association no later than July 1 each year.
